 Good afternoon:

 

We are looking forward to all of our coming Active Shooter & Active Attack training events from the Region 5 RTAC, Georgia Trauma System, and the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Please take a few moments to review the attached announcements and share them with your local response partners. Not only that, but we also strongly encourage all of you to make plans to attend one or more of these offerings WITH your local response partners.

 

High-Risk Unified Commander (HRUC) – 8-Hour INTERACTIVE Workshops – Four Opportunities

Multidisciplinary workshops designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire, and EMS responders during active shooter and intentional mass casualty events. The HRUC program was developed to provide contemporary and realistic strategies, tactics, and related information that front-line supervisors and training officers can use to simultaneously "stop the killing, dying, and crying."

 

Intended Audience: Law enforcement, fire, and EMS command staff, supervisors, training officers - trauma system partners are also welcome

 

When: Tuesday, January 3rd; Wednesday, January 4th; Thursday, January 5th; and Saturday, January 7th

 

Where: Georgia Public Safety Training Center, 1000 Indian Springs Drive, Forsyth, Georgia

 

Cost: $50.00 – Includes workshop, lunch, and bleeding control kit or comparable IFAK

Special Considerations: Participating organizational representatives are welcome and encouraged to attend the program with their local response partners. The same information will be provided each day to enable agencies to send multiple supervisors and training officers. This program is being made available thanks to Georgia Trauma Commission and Regional Trauma System Improvement grant funding.

 

 

TACTICAL EMERGENCY CASUALTY CARE (TECC) – 16-Hour COURSE

NAEMT's TECC course is endorsed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, is consistent with the current guidelines established by the Committee on TECC (Co-TECC), and meets all of the updated National Tactical Emergency Medical Support Competency Domains.

 

Intended Audience: Law enforcement, fire, and EMS responders - trauma system partners are also welcome

 

When: Tuesday, December 20th through Wednesday, December 21st

 

Where: Georgia Public Safety Training Center, 1000 Indian Springs Drive, Forsyth, Georgia

 

Cost: $50.00 – Includes workshop, lunch, and bleeding control kit or comparable IFAK

NAEMT's TECC LEO course is endorsed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and is consistent with the current guidelines established by the Committee on TECC (Co-TECC). An 8-hour classroom course specifically designed for law enforcement officers and other first responders and covers materials found in the 16-hour TECC provider course at a level appropriate for first responders and includes interactive lectures, skill stations, and patient simulations

 

Intended Audience: Law enforcement, fire, and EMS responders - trauma system partners are also welcome

 

When: Tuesday, December 20th through Wednesday, December 21st

 

Where: Georgia Public Safety Training Center, 1000 Indian Springs Drive, Forsyth, Georgia

 

Cost: $50.00 – Includes workshop, lunch, and bleeding control kit or comparable IFAK

RESCUE TASK FORCE INSTRUCTOR

The Region 5 RTAC Region 5 Regional Trauma Advisory Committee (RTAC) is seeking to expand its multidisciplinary cadre of qualified Rescue Task Force (RTF) instructors. The RTF course is designed to teach students driving tactics, command and control considerations, essential on-scene functions, as well as reasonable expectations for success during active violence incidents. 

 

Intended Audience: Law enforcement, fire, and EMS supervisors and educators may apply – see the program announcement for qualifications and prerequisites

 

When: Thursday, January 6th

 

Where: Georgia Public Safety Training Center, 1000 Indian Springs Drive, Forsyth, Georgia

 

Cost: NO COST

STOP THE BLEED® LIVE ONLINE TRAINING - 1-Hour WEBINARS - SEVEN Opportunities

The STOP THE BLEED® Course is designed for those with little or no medical training who may be called upon to provide initial trauma care and bleeding control before the arrival of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This 1-hour program is FREE and instructed by highly trained and experienced STOP THE BLEED® educators and trauma providers from Georgia's Trauma System.

 

Intended Audience: Appropriate for all audiences (everyone that bleeds red)

 

When: Tuesday, January 3rd; Wednesday, January 4th; Thursday, January 5th – Multiple Offerings Each Day

 

Where: Online

 

Cost: FREE

Special Considerations: This webinar series is being hosted by our Trauma System Partners at Ogeechee Technical College. Paramedic Technology Instructor Laura Coleman has graciously agreed to moderate our multidisciplinary team of experienced STOP THE BLEED® educators. Hands-on practice and skills training is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and necessary to obtain a "full" STOP THE BLEED® certification; These webinars are not intended to replace any planned in-person STOP THE BLEED® courses.
