In Memory of Morton “Mort” Lindner

Morton “Mort” Lindner

Dear GSFA Members,

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Morton “Mort” Lindner, a longtime friend and dedicated member of the Georgia fire service community.

Mort served as Parliamentarian for the Georgia State Firefighters Association for many years, generously sharing his knowledge, guidance, and commitment with our Association. His life was truly one of service. In addition to his involvement with GSFA, Mort served 34 years as a volunteer firefighter with Martinez-Columbia Fire Rescue and more than 20 years on the department’s Board of Trustees.

Mort passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 93. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Hildegard, his children, family, friends, and all those throughout the Georgia fire service who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, Mort’s family has requested that memorial donations may be made to the Georgia State Firefighters Association Mort Lindner Education Fund.

Additional information regarding Mort’s life and services can be found below.
