Organizational & Behavioral Health Assessment - Interested in how you're doing

All,

The Center for the Advancement of Military and Emergency Services (AMES) Research at Kennesaw State University is Georgia's only first responder research agency. We are currently working with agencies to identify needs. Through funding from the CDC and the Georgia Department of Public Health, we will provide free assessments of your organization’s health and readiness.

Again – this is no cost and will be useful in understanding the health of an organization and shaping grant applications, behavioral and wellness programming, and even hiring and retention. An example of the report you will receive is attached (see Example OHA report)

Below is one paragraph about who we are and a second paragraph about what we are offering to any active first responder agency in Georgia.

About AMES: The AMES Research Center at Kennesaw State University develops solutions to the complex occupational and behavioral health concerns that negatively impact Georgia’s military and emergency services personnel, their families, and communities. We use cutting-edge, multidisciplinary scientific expertise to design and execute tailorable, scalable, and culturally aligned research. Our vision is to be the nexus for translational military and emergency services health and wellness research implementation in the state of Georgia. A more comprehensive overview of who we are is attached.

What we are offering: An organizational health assessment and report at no cost to you. We are able to provide this assessment and report at no cost because of funding provided by the Centers for Disease Control and the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health Developmental Disabilities. The A.M.E.S. Organizational Health Assessment (OHA) is a brief (5-7 minute) assessment that can be completed on any device with internet access. All responses are anonymous and designed to examine group-specific behavioral health issues at the organizational and individual levels. We recognize that first responders face many barriers to seeking behavioral health services (i.e., stigma or organizational requirements). The A.M.E.S. OHA is an anonymous survey that is voluntarily completed and helps inform future services and interventions. Topics addressed include PTSD, sleep health, chronic pain, suicidality, substance use, and organizational health concerns.

If anyone is interested in this service – please have them reach out directly to me (Dr. Brian Moore at Brian.Moore@Kennesaw.edu or

912-678-8540). My network is by no means comprehensive. Please send this to anyone you think will be interested.

We look forward to serving you and appreciate all you do to keep our communities and Georgia safe.

Respectfully,

Brian A. Moore, Ph.D.
