GSFA Magazine Articles Due June 10th

Reminder: Fall 2022 GSFA Magazine Articles

 

DEADLINE: June 10th

We welcome your articles, photos, ideas, and suggestions for our upcoming magazine. Persons interested in writing should be passionate about the subject matter and possess the ability to write knowledgeable articles. 

 

If you are interested in writing and have an idea to contribute, please contact Taylor Moore at taylor@gsffa.org.

 

Articles are due on or before June 10th to Taylor Moore at the e-mail address above. Articles should be sent as a word document with any images attached separately to the e-mail. Article lengths are flexible.

 

Please contact Taylor with any other questions you have. GSFA reserves the right to accept or reject articles submitted for publication and editing of content may occur.

NVFC

The NVFC is pleased to partner with CHEMTREC for the 2022 HELP Awards. Through this grant program, two eligible volunteer fire departments will receive a $10,000 grant to enhance their response capabilities and readiness for hazmat incidents. The application period is now open, and attached is a press release to share with your audiences.

 

In addition, the NVFC has partnered with MSA to give away a Cairns® XF1 Fire Helmet in June. A press release is also attached to share with your audience.

2022 Chemtrec HELP Award Announcement 2022 MSA Helmet Giveaway

We have the pipeline courses that you request set up. Below you will find links to register your personnel online. Please try to have some personnel registered by at least the week before class so we can produce a roster. The registration can be changed into the start of class to include changes for shift personnel attendance. Feel free to invite any surrounding jurisdictions and share the links if need be. The courses can also be found on the GPSTC training calendar for registration purposes. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns that arise. Thank you for hosting pipeline training.

As we enter the closing days of this Legislative Session, we have some decisions to make about HB 451, PTSD Insurance Coverage. While this bill was originally designed to be similar to our Firefighter Cancer Insurance, it has been changed a few times as it has passed through committees. The House passed it with a reduction in lump sum benefit from the original $10,000 to $3,000 and a long-term disability benefit.
