NVFC Training Summit

NVFC still has stipends available for the 2023 Training Summit in Oklahoma City. 

 

2023 NVFC Training Summit Travel Stipends provide reimbursement of up to $900 for eligible expenses, including:

  • Up to three nights hotel at the conference hotel block rate
  • Travel, including round-trip airfare, cab/shuttle fare, and/or mileage
  • The conference registration fee

 

This event is an opportunity to participate in valuable classroom training and share ideas and best practices with emergency responders from across the U.S. Chose from breakout sessions addressing key topics in first responder health, safety, leadership, recruitment, and retention; participate in general sessions and hear from keynote speakers; and attend networking events. 

 

This expanded Training Summit incorporates the NVFC’s Recruitment & Retention Experience, previously offered as a separate event, to allow more first responders the opportunity to take advantage of courses on a variety of topics.

As we enter the closing days of this Legislative Session, we have some decisions to make about HB 451, PTSD Insurance Coverage. While this bill was originally designed to be similar to our Firefighter Cancer Insurance, it has been changed a few times as it has passed through committees. The House passed it with a reduction in lump sum benefit from the original $10,000 to $3,000 and a long-term disability benefit.
