NVFC Article: $1.5 Million Awarded to Local Fire Departments

In 2025, 150 volunteer fire departments from across the country received a $10,000 grant through the State Farm® Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program, in partnership with the NVFC. These funds were used to secure essential equipment that enhanced the department’s readiness and the safety of firefighters and community members.

As the 2026 grant application period approaches, we’re sharing local impact stories highlighting how this funding is making a difference on the ground. The attached article provides examples of how national support translates into real community impact.
