The Fire and Emergency Services Section of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center is hosting the course Fire and Emergency Services Training Officer on March 9-13, 2026.
This course will prepare fire and emergency services personnel to lead the overall training program for their agency. Topics range from needs assessment, curricula development, administrative duties, and resource management. During the course, each student will develop and present a needs analysis and recommendations for change in their department's training program. This course will meet and exceed the requirements for NFPA 1020, Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, Fire Officer, and Emergency Medical Services Officer Professional Qualifications Chapter 6, Fire Instructor III.
Any individual that is serving as or may potentially serve as a training officer in a fire and/or emergency services organization should attend. This includes those individuals that may manage the training programs for their organization, such as mid-level officers, administrative officers, and those that may be promoted to the level of training officer in their organization.
Prerequisites: Certification at the level of Fire Instructor II.
This is a 40-hour class and will be held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
