So we decided to make this a standard posting on the website on the website for your review. “Georgia State Firefighters Association Adds AAA Auto Club South To Its List of Discount Benefit Providers”
AAA Auto Club South- Since 1902, AAA has been primarily known for its famous emergency roadside service through its Membership Program. AAA Auto Club South has recently partnered with the Georgia State Firefighters Association in order to provide the ability for Georgia State Firefighters sociation members to enroll as a new AAA Member at discount prices as well as adding eligible family members at 50% off. AAA Membership also includes over 160,000 “Show Your Card & Save” Partners providing members up to a 35% discount. AAA will be providing GSFA members the ability to enroll via printed forms, mailed or faxed, as well as online enrollment posted on GSFA benefits intranet site. In addition, AAA Auto Club South is offering GSFA members additional AAA Business Services in the way of their AAA Group Insurance (home/auto) and AAA Travel Concierge Services. Each year the GSFA gives eight (8) $500.00 scholarships to firefighters and their family members. The deadline for submission of applications for the scholarship is April 15th each year. The application can be downloaded from our website.
AWARD RECOGNITIONS
Each year the GSFA presents awards for Lifesaving Valor, a Firefighter of the Year, a Rookie of the Year, and an Educator of the Year. The deadline for submission of applications for the awards is April 15th each year. The application(s) can be downloaded from our website. Award recipients are recognized at the annual banquet during the GSFA annual conference and by the Governor during the Firefighters Recognition Day ceremonies at the State Capitol in February each year.
LINE OF DUTY DEATH BENEFIT
A $1,000 Line of Duty Death Benefit is available through the GSFA for a member who is killed in the line of duty.
GSFA FIRE DEPARTMENT GRANTS
Each year the GSFA awards four (4) $500.00 grants to member fire departments. The deadline for submission of applications for the grants is April 15th each year. The application can be downloaded from our website.
